Become a New You

In Merriam Websters dictionary the definition reinventing yourself defines as:

: to become a different kind of person, performer, etc. She’s a classical singer who’s trying to reinvent herself as a pop artist.

I had to do more research on this topic once I read this Forbes article. I learned that reinvention is starting over and growing into something bigger and better.

Honestly, revamping youself is vital to health and happiness. Studies have shown a midlife career shift, for instance, can improve brain cognition, overall well-being, and longevity. And reinventing yourself to live more in alignment with your values can transform your life satisfaction.

It’s okay to want to become someone new, it’s a sign of growth. Wanting to improve areas of your life is the first step in becoming the person of your dreams.

One of my favorite things about life is the fact that we (eventually) have control over how we want our lives to go. You don’t like a certain aspect of your life? Change it. It’s that simple to me. However, I do understand it’s a process and it wont happen in the blink of an eye. Thankfully, I understand it is a process to become the ideal version of yourself.

I like to think I’m the queen of starting over. I am not afraid to switch up my entire flow and I’ve always loved that about me. It was easy for me to understand that each version of myself is a phase on my way to my highest self.

Love the Process

Fall in love with the process of reinventing yourself, your brand, your way of life.

If you didn’t know, Aristotle invented the philosophy of ‘The Good Life’. According to the philosopher, the personal excellence in the good life falls under the moral virtue. The idea of character development is involved in the moral virtue. You can read more about his theory in this article.

With that being said, I agree with Aristotle’s ideology. It’s not about one certain thing that may/may not be considered happy. It’s about the things you do in the process of getting to where you want out of life. I love that.

That’s why it’s amazing to start over, switch careers, move, feel different things. In order to feel new things and step out of your comfort zone you’re going to naturally evolve after so many new experiences. You’re going to crave it, in a sense. I know this is a lot to take in, but I promise it’s valuable information.

Conclusion

I wrote this article to remind anyone who comes across this article that it’s okay to change your life and become someone new. In no way do I mean this in a dramatic tone. I’m not saying move away, change your name, and start a new life (unless you want to). I’m saying you should be open to exploring everything that makes you wonder or feel more. Companies reinvent themselves all the time to adjust to an ever-changing society, why cant people? People can too. I love having transparent moments about starting over in life because things don’t go well. Starting over again just means new opportunity for growth and improving the quality of your mental + physical state. I encourage it.

Reinvent yourself, I DARE YOU.

Always,

Sunny
